Stress is an unavoidable part of life and organizations. Job stress was defined as job factors interacting with workers to change their psychological and physiological functioning from normal. Stress management approaches include cognitive-behavioral techniques, relaxation, multimodal interventions, and organization-focused programs. The most effective are comprehensive and address the individual and the organization. The health promotion hierarchy suggests upstream prevention at the organization level has the greatest impact.
