1. Script for trailer outlining the shots, sound and editing we will use:
GEORGIAS HOUSE- EVENING- PARTY
• GEORGIA in her own home, in a friendly environment that she feels comfortable
in, showing he everyday life with her family. – Short snippet of this to show that it
is short lived and does not stay this way for long- quickly goes away from this
into everything in her life going downhill.
-Long shot/ establishing shot of her environment
Voice over: “She had it all”
Close up shots along with two shots of GEORGIA laughing with STEPH and all of
her family and friends celebrating her 18th Birthday- blowing out her candles and
dancing all night: To show her happiness and how content she is.
Voiceover: “An exciting future”
A long shot will then be used to show people dancing and enjoying themselves with
is then followed by another establishing shot to show the party environment again.
This part of the trailer (the party continues) by using a long shot showing a few people
talking and having fun at the party.
Voiceover: “A caring community”
We then see a mid-shot of Georgia getting her phone out of her pocket with everyone
else behind her blurred so she is the main focus (pull focus).
GEORGIA getting a ‘weird’ text (SOUND EFFECT OF MOBILE RECIEVING TEXT)
from her ex at her 18th birthday and looking worried about what is to come (an
extreme close up shot of her phone of what the text says: ‘Meet me. 2pm. I know
where you are, so don’t be late.’) This continues for a few seconds showing her
not being able to concentrate on her party and her trying to put on a brave face-close
ups to show her looking worried and her emotions changing within
minutes because of this text.
Voiceover: “Little did they know…”
You then see a tracking shot of Steph walking over to Georgia to see her as it is
her birthday so she wants to be with her.
Then we see a mid-shot of both Steph and Georgia, and then a close up shot is
used where Georgia is pretending not to be worried and smiles as a disguise as
she wants to conceal her emotions.
Voiceover: “Change was to come…”
Screen fades to black and then fades back in.
We then see a tracking shot of Georgia’s Dad moving boxes down the stairs and out
of the house ready for her to move out to show to the audience that she is continuing
to move despite the texts from her ex.
This is followed by a mid- shot of Georgia outside the house sat on a wall looking at
her phone.
Voiceover: “Hidden secrets…”
2. This is quickly followed by a close up/ extreme close up of her phone once again to
show another text from her ex, whom the audience are yet to see.
This is followed by a close up shot/ two shot of Georgia and her dad hugging to say
goodbye.
This is then quickly followed by an over the shoulder shot- over the Moms shoulder,
so we as the audience can see Georgia and her scared face as she is moving out
without knowing what is to come of these texts she has been receiving.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in- shows passage of time
GEORGIA’S NEW FLAT- CHANGE OF LOCATION
Voiceover: “Mysterious beginnings”
The first thing we see in the new location is a panning shot (from Georgia’s point of
view) looking around her at her new flat, so the audience can see the whole of the new
location and where she is.
• The next part that is shown from the synopsis in the trailer is when a close up of
GEORGIA in her new flat looking scared and like she doesn’t know what to do yet
still carrying on with her job and her life.
• The audience then see an over the shoulder shot- over MARK’S shoulder- a new
character has been introduced but not by face just from behind to begin with.
This shot shows MARK knocking/banging on GEORGIA’S new door looking quite
violent and angry- music stops and him banging on the door is heard.
Voiceover: “One man, several consequences”
• Then the audience see a close up shot of Georgia looking very worried and
covering her face with her hands to show how scared she is about him being
there and finding out where she lives.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in- passage of time.
Next we see a two shot/medium close up of BOTH GEORGIA and MARK together
appearing to be ‘happy’ and Georgia concealing her emotions.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in
We then see a medium close up of GEORGIA and MARK, where MARK is
screaming at Georgia (showing his violent side) saying
Dialogue: “Your parents will never want you, they hate you, now are you going to help?”
Fade to black- and then fade back in
We then see a series of three shots where Mark and Georgia are planning and
discussing ideas to sabotage Georgia’s family’s lives. First we see a medium shot
of Mark and Georgia of them discussing ideas (that we cannot hear as the
soundtrack will be playing over the top) along with TIK TOK OF THE CLOCK
SOUND EFFECT TO SHOW TIME PASSING.
Voiceover: “The passage of time leads to destruction”
This is followed by a close up shot and a medium shot to show them
continuously discussing this plan that they will do in order to ruin everyone’s
lives- Mark being the dominant force, shown through body language.
3. Then we see a long shot of Mark pretending to be nice to Georgia and hugging
her and trying to be affectionate.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in
Then we see a wide shot of the whole of the main room in the flat with Georgia
and Mark sat in the middle surrounded by paper to show how far they are going
to go with this plan and how serious they are BOTH now taking it.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in.
An establishing shot is then used to show the area in which Steph is meeting
them little does she know of her kidnapping.
Next we see a close up shot of Steph standing at the bus stop with no expression
on her face.
Next when the action takes place a medium close up/tracking shot is used to
follow Mark and Georgia creeping up to Steph with a metal bar.
Fade to black then fade back in.
Then we see a high angle shot of Steph lying on the floor in the middle of the
pavement.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in
A close up is then shown of a missing sign on a lamppost to show the
consequences of what has happened with the mystery being: where Steph is.
Screen fades to black and then fades back in
We then see a medium shot of Georgia’s family opening a package.
Next we see a brief close up shot of the family looking horrified (what they
receive is not shown to the audience in the trailer though).
Screen fades to black and then fades back in
Then we see three close up shots in a row of Georgia and Steph’s parents
breaking down- crying because of everything that is happening including Steph’s
mysterious disappearance.
Fast paced editing skipping from these shots: (back and forth)
• Then a Medium shot of Mark with a lighter by Georgia’s work is shown.
Voiceover: “Devastating endings”
Screen fades to black and then fades back in
• Georgia screaming- close up
Black screen: Intertitles: “Canal studios presents…”

4. Intertitles: “In the thriller of the year” –Medium shot of Mark grabbing Georgia to make
her stop crying.

Several close ups/extreme close ups of Georgia looking very anxious and scared about
what she is about to do next- make up down face, blood involved etc. – Fast paced
editing between the shots, including jump cuts.
Screen fades to black
• The screen comes back (fades in) showing her grabbing a lighter by her family
home and being very impulsive and then it ends with a close up of her flicking
the lighter looking possessed. SOUND EFFECT: FLICKING OF LIGHTER
• Medium shot followed by a close up followed by an extreme close up to show her
extreme emotions.

Quick, fast past editing used throughout- jumping between all the different scenes to show how fast
things in her life changed- like all the different scenes are flashing up on the screen.
