Good ideas require that we step out of our comfort zone. Challenge your own assumptions- you may be indeed wrong and the other person right. Or you’re both wrong. Or both right. Before you take a position, seek to understand the other person’s assumptions and points of view. That will improve your position. You can’t communicate too much. Communicate the same message in multiple ways, with multiple tools and at multiple times. One email does not do it! And don’t assume the recipient knows what you know. Every business, like every town or city, has its own unique culture. Learn it.
