2.  The letters for Anzac stands for Australia
and New Zealand Army Corps. Australians
celebrate ANZAC day on the 25th April
each year.
 It is on this day that we remember the
brave men and women who fought and
have served our country in times of war so
we can live freely.

3. A lot of animals went
to war. Horses, dogs,
cats and even
pigeons. If these
animals saved a
group of allies or has
bravely sended a
secret letter without
getting detected and
hasn't failed a single
time, they earned a
Dickens Medal.

4.  You may have seen that in some shops
they sell poppies or poppy lapels? Those
flowers are for us to remember the brave
soldiers who have fought for the country
for freedom. Next time you see them, why
not spend your pocket money on
something that will help you celebrate the
heroes that gave you the independence to
be standing here in a free country today?

5. Did you know?
Apart from the Australians and New Zealanders, the Gallipoli
landing force included large British, French and Indian
regiments and troops from Nepal, Canada and an Egypt
based Jewish Legion.

6.  Who did Australia battle against?
 The Turkish army.
 What does the word, ANZAC stands for?
 Australians and New Zealanders Army
Corporation.
 Where did the ANZACs and the Turkish
army fight?
 In Gallipoli.
