Welcome to Business 101. I am Laura Saret, your instructor for the course. In order to get started with the course, you must purchase a book and access code. In addition, you will need to register the code.
We are using the 9th edition of Understanding Business by Nickels, McHugh, and McHugh.Since we will be using publisher materials for the course, you are also required to have an access (or registration) code for the book.

Each student must have his or her own code.If you buy the book from Oakton’s bookstore or from Oakton’s bookstore website, your book will come with a code. Do not lose the code until your register it. If you do not buy your book through Oakton, you can buy a code without purchasing the book.
So, what’s the big deal about the code?Some of your assignments and learning activities will make use of McGraw-Hill materials on connect. Without the code, you cannot do the assignments or learning activities and will earn 0 points for them.
