2. A former swimsuit model, Laura Guttridge has been passionate about helping animals, and bringing awareness to their sad plight since she was a child. She is the founder and past president of an animal right group that was based in Ocala Florida called Marion County Voices for Animals.
3. She has been actively involved in many protests and promotions for animals, and has helped in bringing awareness about the sufferings of animals used in the circus, the meat industry, hunting, the fur trade, and other such cruelty's.

She follows and promotes a vegetarian lifestyle, and has helped raise money for one of the world's largest chimpanzee sanctuary's named Save the Chimps, by chairing fundraising events for them.Laura Guttridge is also the author of a book called Gypsy the Christmas Cat which is based on the true story of a real life cat named Gypsy.
5. This book gives a message to kids that all animals deserve protection and loving home, and teaches them the values of patience, trust and compassion. Presently, Laura Guttridge is serving on the board of directors for Animal Rights Foundation of Florida. In appreciation for her dedicated efforts, she was given The 2007 Humanitarian of the Year award by the Humane Society of Vero Beach Fl.

8. She is also the author of the children’s book Gypsy the Christmas Cat which teaches children about trust, compassion and patience. The book is based on a real life cat named Gypsy. Children learn about giving out unconditional love, affection, kindness and a home to animals.
