Evaluation Question Two:
How Does Your Media Product Represent Particular Social
Groups?
By Laura Thornborrow
Our Film:
The Presence:
Our Main Character:
 The reason for have a younger female as our
protagonist character is due to the stereotypes
which are associated with young females. These
include things like: them being more vulnerable,
more emotional etc.
The Protagonist in our
film:
 The reason for select this particular target, which
will be roughly 15-25 is because they maybe able
to relate to some of the thing the character does
better than older or even young people.
Our Target Audience:
 The reason for costume which Amy wore thought
the film, was because the clothing looked natural,
therefore it would create more realistic and life-
like storyline for people watching, as they may
refer to thing they have done which are included
in the film.
 The costume she wore included: A blue and white
stripy vest top, black legging and cream/brown
flat pumps. The costume she wore also was
created with the help of our target audience
research in the stages before our filming process
began.
The Main Characters
Costume:
 It also shows the stereotypical costume and/or
outfit which people of that age may or may not
wear on a day to day bases.
 By Amy wearing this tight costume, which shows
that she is venerable, and maybe a sexual object
to other males.
The Main Characters
Costume:
Real Product:
Scream (1996):
The Main Character:
 In the film ‘Scream’ the victim
of the film is Sidney Prescott
(Neve Campbell). The film was
first made in 1996 since then
many things in the film have
changed this was shown when
the last ‘Scream’ film which was
release in 2011.
Comparing
Both Films:
Comparing Character:
Similarities:
 Both film have female protagonists
(victims)
 Both has a similar storyline
 Both film’s female characters look like
sexual objects with the
that they look.
Differences:
 They both have different fonts:
 Our font looks like a horror because
of the style (looks like its been cut
by an axe)
 Their font look plain and simple
which doesn’t really a typical horror
font as it doesn’t look scary
