2. How to get attention??
Nina liked to use a lot of videos and
slides during her presentation
3. The Proof is in the Facts!
These videos and slides went from
genetic engineering to money models to
state factual evidence
4. Got to keep them Engaged
Nina kept the
crowds attention by
not staying on one
topic for to long.
5. How’d She do It?
She used
comparisons of
how one animal is
different from
another and how
humans are the
same to prove how
tissue engineering
can be the answer.
6. Dynamics
I rate Nina a for on
4 Dynamics because, her level
does sometimes fall even if it
is very slightly. Don’t get me
wrong she is a great speaker
with a very interesting topic
that kept me engaged the
whole time.
7. Visual Theme
Nina used one of Garr Reynolds very
well known techniques. She used kept to
same the same visual theme throughout
her presentation. Her power points and
videos all stuck to the thesis the tissue
engineering can be the cure for the
future.
8. What Have I learned
Preparation
Nina Tandon is a highly regarded
scientist and speaker. Her preparation
for her speech goes without question.
She had everything well outlined and
detailed.
9. Delivery
As far as her delivery goes, her eye
contact, posture, dynamic range, and
engagement were all above reproach.
You can easily tell that she has done this
multiple times.
10. Compare
Ken Robinson
Ken has a bit of a different speaking
style the Nina. While Nina’s tone is
more serious, Ken has a very good
personality while speaking. He uses a
lot of humor and jokes while he
speaks
11. Contrast
Ken and Nina while having two different
styles of speaking are very much alike.
They are both dedicated to their craft.
They support their speech with lots of
facts and are both highly confident in
what they are saying.
12. Based on Nina’s Speech
Be prepared
Always have your facts, power points,
videos, and ideas in order.
13. Delivery
Make sure when your giving your speech
not to get nervous. Don’t speed up or
slow down to much. Space your words
correctly allowing the audience to take
in what you’re saying. Be confident.
14. Summary
I enjoyed watching Nina Tandon’s
speech on Tissue Engineering. I learned
a lot on how it could mean personalizing
medications for individual people based
upon race, heredity, and gender. I also
learned different things to improve my
own speaking skills. I look forward to
putting them into play.
