The + sign tells us to move to the positive side.
We start at +2 and move +4 to the positive side.




              (+2) + (+4) = +6

The - sign tells us to move to the Negative side. We
start at -3 and move -1 to the Negative side.
When there are two – side by side you make it into a +.



               (-3) – (-2)= -5
If you have a problem that says 2×(+3) you just
do 3+3 to the positive side. If you have a
problem that says 2×(-3) you do 3+3 too but to
the negative side.
You can use the number line to divide. For example, you
want to divide 6 by some other number. First, draw a
number line that begins at 0 and ends at 6. Now, to find
the answer to 6 ÷ 2, just split this number line into two
equal parts.
