1. Hello!
I’m Laia Borràs, and I remember when I was at the University of Barcelona.
There, I had a subject where we were discovering a lot of resources to teach
English to our students in primary education through Internet or through several
interesting tools. Thus, I have learned a lot of things during that semester;
especially I have learned many resources and methodologies very interesting,
useful, demanding, attractive and dynamics that I will use to teach English to my
future students because, in my opinion, I think that to learn a foreign language
you
have
to
be
interested
in
it
and
have
an
attraction.
Also, you have to like the language that you are learning and, as a teacher, the
best way to achieve this to your students is to use a dynamic, interactive and
motivate methodology to teach English. One example of it, is using the various
resources that I have learned in this subject and furthermore, the resources that
I will learn in this subject “ICT TOOLS APPLIED TO THE LEARNING OF
ENGLISH LANGUAGE” because, thanks for that, I have realized that you can
learn English in a funny but, at the same time, in a demanding way. And for the
students,
this
is
the
best
way
to
learn
a
second
language.
I remember when I was in the school, my English teacher was very boring and
she didn’t use any interactive methodology or resource, consequently, I hated
this second language and by the time and with other English teachers, I have
realized that I love English and there’s a lot of interesting tools and resources to
learn in a dynamic way.
Hello,
I have read all your contributions to the forum and I totally agree with all of you.
Related to Carmen Aguilar’s contribution, unfortunately, I can imagine one
lesson without the use of the computer or the CD player because when I was a
child, my English teacher didn’t use any resource to teach us English and it was
very boring. We always used the student book and the activity book and
sometimes we listened the CD player but not so often. I agree with Bea who
2. said that new technologies are important for all students especially for those
who have a special need. OF COURSE!!!! The new technology and the new
advances, are a great tool for these students. You can achieve a lot of things
through these interactive, dynamic and demanding activities.
I also agree with Ana Cristina, smart boards are a perfect tool for the students,
and they love to use it. As a teacher, you can do interesting activities with a
smart board. Furthermore, Sandra said that the resources are perfect for the
students and for the teachers to help in this teaching-learning-process. I totally
agree with this contribution. The ICT tools are very useful for the teachers and
engaging for the students. The teacher, through these resources, can achieve
the interest of the students. But, nowadays there are many older teachers who
do not know how to use these technological resources and it’s a shame.
However, as Laura said, we do not have to forget the traditional methodology.
It’s true, read books or stories, do activities in the activity book and also write in
a paper using a pencil it’s also important. The ICT tools are very helpful but they
don’t have to substitute the traditional methodology, they have to complement
this method.
