2014 State FFA Convention Information
Welcome To Lexington Guide
Dates
The 85th
Annual Kentucky FFA State Convention will be held Tuesday, June 10th
through
Thursday, June 12th
in Lexington, Kentucky. A complete schedule will be available at
http://www.kyffa.org
Convention Sessions
Convention Sessions will be held in Rupp Arena. Students, advisors, and guests will enter the
arena through the High Street Lobby of the Lexington Center. For more information on the
Lexington Center visit http://www.lexingtoncenter.com/
Contests
Contests will be held in the Lexington Center, the Hyatt Regency, and the Hilton Lexington
Downtown Hotel. See Convention Program for complete list of contests and hotel maps. Floor
plans for each facility are available below:

The Preparation Room for Extemporaneous and Impromptu Speaking will be the Bluegrass
Ballroom, Level III of the Lexington Center.
Registration
• Registration will take place in the Bluegrass Pre-Function Area, Level III of the Lexington
Center.
• The deadline for pre-registration is May 15th
. Pre-registration forms should be mailed to
the Executive Secretary.
• On-site registration hours are Monday, June 9th
- 2:00-4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 10th
-
8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Staff will be on hand in the registration area until 9 p.m. each
evening for late registration.
• Full Convention Registration for members and advisors is $20.
• Parents and guest registration is free. Guests are asked to complete a guest registration
card in the Bluegrass Pre-Function Area and obtain a name badge.
• Thursday only registration for State Degree Candidates is $10 and will take place in the
Bluegrass Pre-Function Area, beginning at 7:30 Thursday morning.
• Middle School Registration for middle school students who arrive on Monday and
depart on Tuesday is $10. Middle School students staying longer than Tuesday
afternoon are expected to pay full registration.
Headquarters
Headquarters for the Convention will be the Bluegrass Pre-Function Registration Area. This
room is located on Level III of the Lexington Center.
Directions to the Lexington Center
• Directions to the High Street Parking Lot from all directions are available at
http://www.lexingtoncenter.com/attendingAnEvent/directions.php
• Enter 410 West High Street as the address if using MapQuest or GPS.
Parking For Guests and Judges
Guest parking (for those not spending the night) is available in the High Street Parking Lot.
Directions are available above. Daily rates do apply.
Leadership Workshops
Leadership Workshops are planned for the 2014 Convention. Specific Information will be
available at a later date.
Lexington Legends Game
Tickets will be available for the Lexington Legends baseball game on Monday evening, June 10th
.
Courtesy Corps
Chapters are asked to provide members to work State Convention Courtesy Corps. The
Courtesy Corps form will be emailed to all chapter advisors in mid-March. Chapters are asked
to return this form to the Executive Secretary by May 15th
.
Career Show
The Kentucky FFA Foundation will again be sponsoring an Agriculture Career Show for FFA
members. More details on the Career Show will be made available at a later date.
Food Options
A variety of food options are available within walking distance of the Lexington Center-
including several under the same roof.

Housing
Housing will be provided in the Hyatt Regency, Lexington Hilton Downtown, and the Clarion
Hotel. Reservation forms should be submitted directly to the hotels by May 10th

Our fourth annual Kentucky FFA Day of Service will be held on Monday, June 9th
. More
information will be shared in a few weeks.
Bus Unloading and Parking
Complimentary bus parking will be provided in the Manchester Street Parking lot behind Rupp
Arena. Directions to the Cox Street Lot from the hotels is below.
• Hyatt
o Unloading- busses will unload in front of the hotel on High Street
o Directions from unloading to parking- proceed west on High Street
approximately 1 block. Turn right on Jefferson Street. Make an immediate left
onto Manchester Street. Turn right onto Cox Street and then make an
immediate right into the Rupp Arena Manchester Street Parking Lot.
• Lexington Hilton Downtown
o Unloading- busses will unload in front of the hotel on North Bound South
Broadway
o Directions from unloading to parking- proceed north on Broadway two blocks.
Turn left onto Second Street- follow Second Street three blocks. Turn left onto
Jefferson Street- follow Jefferson Street four blocks and cross the bridge. Turn
right onto Manchester Street. Turn right onto Cox Street and then make an
immediate right into the Rupp Arena Manchester Street Parking Lot.
