This popular tune was published in 1913
and introduced on the Broadway revue The
Honeymoon Express. Al Jolson performed
one of the earliest recordings of the song,
and it was also performed in the 1946 film,
The Jolson Story. Judy Garland also sang
this tune to Clark Gable in the film,
Broadway Melody of 1938. The MGM
executives were enthralled by her
performance, which led to her landing the
role in the Wizard of Oz.
