              fun, right? Our planet Earth is made of all these. You will
              learn about Earth’s weather and its soil, rocks, and even
              make a VOLCANO! It will be a blast – literally. Camp with a
              bang!

              Ready for a kayak trek? Then up the creek we go! Spend
              three action filled days kayaking, canoeing, sail boarding,
              doing archery, and nature activity. Nights will be filled with
              a scavenger hunt, cooking, campfires, and S’mores as part
              of your adventure.

Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 Museum Blvd., Wichita
    Girl Scouts help bring Old Cowtown Museum to life as they learn and experience the life of girls and women in the
    1870’s. Girls and adults who participate in this unique opportunity dress in time-period clothing as historical character
    interpreters.
    Old	Cowtown	Museum	time-period	clothing:	
    All fourth-grade and older girl and adult participants must be in time-period dress approved by the Girl Scout
    clothing coordinator. Many girls and adults like to provide their own unique time-period dress; the museum has
    strict guidelines for material, color and fabrics. For more information about patterns and material, contact Mary

                    Starwoods Outdoor Center became an ACA accredited site Oct. 18, 2005. This “stamp of
                       approval” by the American Camping Association means that the activities offered year round
                        offer a solid foundation of health, safety and program quality standards. These standards were
                        established by experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, the
                       camping industry, and other youth service agencies to assure that current practices at the site

Hear ye, hear ye! Princesses one and all: You are hereby invited to the
enchanted kingdom of Starwoods for a magical two-day adventure. Once
you have arrived at your royal castle, also known as Spring Creek Inn, you
will be treated to an evening of tiara designing, etiquette lessons, sweet treats
and a princess-themed story time. A special breakfast will await you at the
Lodge the next morning followed by a visit to the royal craft cottage, sports
court, and a Teddy Bear picnic (so don’t forget to bring your special stuffed
friend)!

  • 10. Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 Museum Blvd., Wichita Girl Scouts help bring Old Cowtown Museum to life as they learn and experience the life of girls and women in the 1870’s. Girls and adults who participate in this unique opportunity dress in time-period clothing as historical character interpreters. Old Cowtown Museum time-period clothing: All fourth-grade and older girl and adult participants must be in time-period dress approved by the Girl Scout clothing coordinator. Many girls and adults like to provide their own unique time-period dress; the museum has strict guidelines for material, color and fabrics. For more information about patterns and material, contact Mary Wilson at mwilson@gskh.org. Girls who do not wish to have their own dress may rent a complete 1870’s dress outfit from our inventory, on a first-reserved basis. There is a $20 fee when renting a dress. Outfit includes age-length dress, apron, bonnet, socks and shoes. Complete the rental form in the back of the summer guide, and send it in with your payment to the Wichita Girl Scout office.
