3. Today’s Lesson
Today you will be exploring the areas of skill
development that you will need to write about in
the first section of your summer exam.
By the end of the lesson you will:
• be able to describe the basic requirements of the
summer exam
• have created a poster presentation, working with
a small group, that covers one area of skills
development.
4. The Exam
Section A: Theoretical Evaluation of Production
(50 marks, 25 marks per question)
This section is made up of two questions:
Question 1(a) requires you to describe and evaluate your skills
development over the course of your production work, from
Foundation Portfolio to Advanced Portfolio. The question will require
you to adapt this to one or two specific areas from the following:
• Digital Technology
• Research and planning
• Post-production
• Using conventions from real media texts
• Creativity
6. The Exam
Section A: Theoretical Evaluation of Production
(50 marks, 25 marks per question)
This section is made up of two questions:
Question 1(b) requires you to select one production (main task
or ancillary) and evaluate it in relation to a media concept that
could be any of the following:
• Genre
• Narrative
• Representation
• Audience
• Media language
