pay your monthly bills. How much
money do you need to set aside for

11. To find how much money you need, you
multiply 1200 by 60%. To do this, you
first change 60% to a decimal. Drop
the percent sign and move the decimal
2 places to the left.
60% = .60
1200 x .60 = 720
So you will need $720 to
pay your monthly bills!
12. Let’s look at some more examples.
1. 32% of $1500 (change % to decimal)
.32 x 1500 (multiply decimal by 1500)
$480
2. 45.8% of $2650
.458 x 2650
$1213.70
