What does Edward mean when he says:

Answer guide:
i. "Would you understand what I meant if I said I was only human?"
(This statement embodies the element of irony: Edward is a vampire, not a human,
but he has feelings for Bella, and those feelings are only possible for humans to have.
The fact that he cannot resist the temptation of being too close to Bella physically
makes him say this. Edward is facing a conflict within himself: As a vampire, he
craves for Bella’s blood, but he fights the urge to drink her blood because he loves
her. Being too close to her worries him because he might hurt or kill her. He says,
‘Never forget I am more dangerous to you than I am to anyone else.’ He says this after
Bella tries to lean closer to him while lying on the grass with him… he reacts by dashing
off in an instant; Bella says, ‘ he was gone, his hand ripped from mine. In the time it took
my eyes to focus, he was twenty feet away, standing at the edge of the small meadow’)

(Edward describes himself as the world’s best predator. "I'm the world's best predator,
aren't I?” He is a vampire, an immortal (the lion). Bella on the other hand, is a normal
girl who is weak and can easily become his prey (the lamb); by saying this he is admitting
that he, the vampire, has fallen in love with a girl whose blood he craves the most)
