  3. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125065190&ft=1&f=1013. This is off of the RSS feed on my Wiki. I was really surprised when I read this article that bullying went this far around the United States.  In Georgia, the parents of a teenage boy who hanged himself believe he took his life because he could no longer endure the bullies at his school. Their lawsuit charges the school failed to protect him. Asperger's disorder.Earlier this month, Massachusetts passed a bill to protect students just two months after the suicide of another teen who was severely bullied.
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullying#cite_note-1.Bullying - a form of aggression that is repetitively exerted against an individual who feels unable to defend him/herself.Emotional bullying – spreading rumors, not letting certain peoples play in games, lower self esteem.Verbal Bullying – hurtful wordsPhysical Bullying – doing harm (kicking, punching, pushing etc.)Picture URL - http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:-6o2yTdNLPfX2M:http://absarahmed.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/bullying.jpg
  5. Bill Belsey is President of Bullying.org.He is the creator and facilitator of www.bullying.org, the world’s most-visited and referencedWebsite about bullying. www.bullying.org has won many awards including the ChildnetInternational Award that goes to Internet initiatives that make the world a better and safer placefor young people and was a finalist for the Stockholm Challenge Award, an award that has beenreferred to as “The Nobel Prize of the IT (Information Technology) world.
  6. http://www.education.com/reference/article/how-widespread-is-bullying/. The first two bullets are more written about on this link. It ask the question: how widespread is bullying?http://www.education.com/reference/article/consequences-of-bullying/. The last three bullets answer the question on why we must stop bullying and it informs us on the impact of the victims, the impact on bullies, and the impact on bystanders, witnesses, and assistants.
  7. This slide includes the warning signs that parents and even friends should see or look for if the have a suspicion that their child or friend is being bullied.http://www.education.com/reference/article/signs-a-child-is-bullied/. This site includes a lot more warning signs or symptoms a parent or friend might see in a bullied child.Picture URL - http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:rE76B2orThNzcM:http://www.christmaschange.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/warning-sign.gif
  8. http://www.education.com/reference/article/suspect-child-being-bullied/. Webpage involves what to do if your child is being bullied.Listen and talk to your children. Then find out what has been tried and work out options with your child - such as being more assertive, avoiding people and places, and seeking help through the school. It is tempting to confront the bully's parents or even the bully. Don't. It seldom pays and commonly makes matters works. When bullying occurs at school, work through your teacher and principal. When help is needed, call on the school. It has the prime responsibility for keeping students safe. Schools can help, especially if parents work closely with them
  9. All these points are things that may have an impact in individual schools. There is always going to be different type of bullying and how aggressive the bullying can get at each individual school. These different types may vary because of where the school is, the social statuses in the school, or even the multicultural differences in that individual school.
  10. There are physical and emotional consequences of being bullied. The first 3 bullets are some examples of the long term effects of bullying. http://www.education.com/reference/article/long-term-effects-bullying/The last two bullets deal with some long-term effects of being a bully. http://www.education.com/reference/article/long-term-effects-of-being-bully/
  11. Picture URL - http://www.regator.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/david-goliath.jpg
  12. http://www.education.com/reference/article/ten-actions-to-eliminate-bullying/1.Parents are usually the last to find out if their child is being bullied. Parents can ask open ended questions about who they are with at school and outside of school.2. 67% of bullying occurs when adults are not around. Spend time at your child’s school even if your child is being bullied or isn’t being bullied because your presence there might help out other students being bullied.3. Children usually do not tell anyone that they are being bullied. Signs include headaches, stomachaches, avoiding recess. Teachers and parents should work together as much as they can because parents cannot be with their children all the time.
  13. Girls bullying – Names, gossip, and letting girls know that they are not allowed in certain groups. Sexual Bullying – at school, the neighborhood, or online. Touched in private body parts or recieveing sexual messages.http://www.education.com/reference/article/difference-between-boy-and-girl-bullies/ Boys Bullying – More physical: hit, kick, slap, push, punch. More name calling in college for boys rather than girls.http://www.education.com/reference/article/difference-between-boy-and-girl-bullies/Spotting who is being bullied - feel depressed, eat or sleep less or more. Watching more carefully around school and home. Teachers and parents should both ask questions to students to whom they might think is being bullied.http://www.education.com/reference/article/difference-between-boy-and-girl-bullies/?page=22. Who is the bully? Someone who may seem aggressive, what the parents role is in the child’s life, begins at a early age (pick at random until about 7, then start singling out other kids).http://www.education.com/reference/article/bullies/Picture URL - http://i.ehow.com/images/a05/ev/uj/avoid-getting-bullied-800X800.jpg
  14. Bullying is something that happens in schools everyday and it is something that will probably never go away. The only thing that we can do about it is to get to the core of the problems. Counselors talking to students.Having an assembly about bullying and the affects.Doing more and focusing on the problem.
