2. Why Nursing?
Iâve always been interested in the medical field, and nursing
is huge in the medical industry. Itâs a strong field that
breaks off into many different specialties. Nursing would be
a good job for me, and I would enjoy helping people to get
better and stay well.
3. Nursing
Nurses are responsible for caring for their patients. They
may also need to present information, perform urgent
procedures, manage and instruct other nurses, as well as
designing and carrying out treatment plans for patients,
assessing the patients physical, mental, and
emotional health, and monitoring results of
health treatment.
4. Working Conditions
Nurses can work in many places, such as hospitals,
nursing homes, walk-in clinics, prisons, and schools.
Nurses jobs are both physically demanding, (walking,
lifting, supporting), as well as emotionally demanding
(working with severely ill or dying patients).
Many work 35-45 hour weeks, often
taking 12-hour shifts, and working both
nights and weekends.
5. Qualifications
After High School, nurses can choose to earn their degree or
diploma in Nursing. For a Degree, Nurses can take a 2-year
Associates Degree or a 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree.
Earning a diploma takes about 3 years. Nurses
must be good at listening, explaining,
prioritizing, planning, paying attention to detail,
caring for people, keeping records, and
observing others to gather information.

for health care is growing with our
population. The numeric change is
estimated to be 526,800 new nurses by
2022. Jobs for nurses with at least a
Bachelorâs Degree are expected to be
better than those without one.
8. Uses of Technology
Technology is one of the biggest things in
nursing. It helps nurses to see things they
normally wouldnât be able to see. It also helps
them communicate faster, more
efficiently, and more in-detail.
These things are critical in any
medical job.
9. Summary
Being in the field of Nursing is a big job with a lot of
responsibilities. You must care for patients, have empathy
for families, and be able to handle traumatic events. It
includes a lot of stress and pressure, but many people find
the outcome majorly rewarding.
Nursing is a great field, and I
would love to go into it.
