 Know your LEARNER

 Identify the KEY IDEA / CONCEPT
  what key idea / concept does the student need to understand?

 Establish the THEME OR ANCHOR POINT
  what context will help the student understand the lesson better?

 Identify the LESSONS and SEQUENCE
  what should the student learn in order to understand the key idea / concept?
  how are these lessons arranged?

 Design the LEARNING PATTERN
  how will the student learn each lesson?
  Eg. explore – introduce – explain – practice – summarize – assess
