• Life was hard, Family didn’t have a lot of
  money/poor



• Hobbies: Swimming , Basketball , Football
• Elementary School : Armstrong Elementary

• High School : Dunbar High School

• College: Amherst University
• biology instructor and a coach at
Morgan college

Famous for saving lives by improving blood
 transfusion methods
•lost his job by protesting
 against the practice of
 racial segregation
• Had 4 children
• Charles Richard Jr.,
  Babe Roberta,
  Charlene Rosella ,
   Rhea Sylvia
•   Died in a car Accident
•   2 other people in the car
•   car flipped 3 times
•   other people only got minor injuries
•   Drew lost too much blood and died
•   Wasn’t given care because he was black
