What happens in the small intestine? ,[object Object],Enterokinase, erepsin (a peptidase), maltase, sucrase, lactase and intestinal lipase to digest carbohydrates, fats and proteins ,[object Object],Inner walls of small intestine are thrown into numerous transverse folds to increase surface area for absorption. Presence of finger-like projections called villi.
How does villi help to increase rate of absorption in the small intestine? Station 5
