2. Drivers
There are drivers for the NX10 and also the L100
available on the Epson site.
My experience was from moving from
PCLinuxOS to Linux Mint 16.
3. PC Linux OS
PC Linux OS was happy to use the NX10 driver
files.
The web based localhost:631 was used to add
the printer.
4. Linux Mint 16
Linux mint first gave errors related to missing
directories.
Then after “complete removal” of cups and
reinstalling that was fixed.
5. Linux Mint 16
Next came the ppd file. They were located in /opt
and due to that the error was “filter failed.”
So I tried the NX100 driver which is available in
the basic deb files which are included.
It worked so I do not need to use other drivers.
6. Filling Ink Levels
If the ink levels are low and need the windows
based utilities to replenish the inks using a code
available from a long list which is readily
available on the net.
I am using Windows 7. The virtual box in Linux
mint needs to be run from root (sudo bash) to be
able to access the USB devices.
7. Virtualbox for Linux Mint 16
Also the virtual box for linux mint 16 needs to be
uninstalled along with the virtual box base
libraries. Then the virtual box from oracle's site
needs to be installed. Also the extensions pack
needs to be added after running virtual box and
going through settings.
8. Virtualbox for Linux Mint 16
The Epson L100 printer needs to be added in the
USB devices before turning on the Windows 7
machine. Maybe you can attach it after running
the Win 7 machine also.
