24. Some of our young scholars went behind the scenes to tell
the “Inside Story” of Duke School. They chose a topic of
interest to them and considered the way that investigating
that topic might impact the school community. In doing so,
they discovered more about citizenship and delved into
aspects of the relatively new Middle School campus. Many of
them wanted to create a lasting record of spaces, people,
and history that can be used by prospective or current
families. This Project really was all about the process. These
products integrated many technology skills, such as Audacity,
Windows Movie Maker, and Photo Story, and even sharing
their work using cutting edge QR codes. In telling the “Inside
Story” of Duke School, they learned and practiced their oral
and written communication skills, used new and meaningful
media, and considered their role and impact in this
community.
