Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences both address learner diversity and acknowledge that students learn in different ways. UDL argues that traditional curriculum needs reform to be more inclusive of all learners, while Multiple Intelligences proposes presenting lessons in various styles using music, art, role playing and other activities to engage different intelligences. Both reject the notion that intelligence is singular and can be measured by IQ alone.
