In short, Smart HDD is a fake system utility
(scareware). While it might look like
genuine software it actually cannot add
any value to your system setup. It reports
non-existent system errors and displays
misleading HDD failure messages.

5. Exploit Packs

 CrimePack
Usually cyber criminals use exploit pack to infect
as many machines as possible. Most of the time,
they exploit Java and Adobe applications as
well as Windows system. For example: Help
Center URL Validation Vulnerability -
CVE-2010-1885.

6. Risk Level: Low/Medium
This malware can:
 block installed software
 disable system utilities
 display fake security messages
 report false infections

7. Risk Level: Low/Medium
This malware cannot:
 delete your files
 steal personal information (unless comes
bundled with spyware)
 damage HDD
 spread on network
 send spam

8. Fake notifications
Windows detected a hard drive problem.
That's a typical fake system error notification
designed to scare you into believe that your
machine has some serious problems.

9. System modifications
 changes file attributes
 hides certain system files
 moves files to Windows %Temp% folder
 makes changes to Windows registry
 runs on system startup

10. Very important!
 DO NOT delete files from the Windows
%Temp% folder.
 Reason: if you delete all the files in your
%Temp% folder, you won't be able to
restore them using unhide.exe utility.

11. How To Remove Smart HDD
1. Enter debugged registration key (see description below).
2. Download and run TDSSKiller
3. Download anti-malware software and run a full system scan
4. Use unhide.exe
5. Use CCleaner to remove the trash files

 use decent firewall software
