2. What is Bullying?

3. Bullying is a repeated hostile act intended
to inflict pain, discomfort, embarrassment,
or induce fear through violence or the
threat of violence or humiliation

4. Types of Bullying
verbal, emotional, physical, cyber,
harassment, and sexual harassment

5. Verbal bullying
is the most common among male and
female students, includes name- calling,
mocking, put downs etc. Gestures and
dirty looks, even though they are nonverbal communication can be considered
as verbal bullying

6. Emotional bullying
can include isolation, spreading rumors,
rejection, or setting someone up for
embarrassment. This form occurs more
often in girls

7. Physical bullying
includes hitting, pushing, slapping,
spitting, tripping, taking or defacing
property or other physical acts that
humiliate

8. Cyber bullying
includes sending messages or posting
information through electronic technology
such as computers or cell phones that is
intended to threaten or humiliate. If any of
this electronic communication causes a
disruption at school, the student at fault
may face consequences at school

9. Harassment
involves threats, challenging a person to
do something they do not want to do, as
well as ethnic, racial, or religious taunting

10. Sexual harassment
is a specific form of harassment that is
directed towards a person’s sexual
identity. It can include gestures, spreading
rumors, written language, communication,
or touching
