7. My PLN will... Allow me to find, filter, organize, repurpose and share information in order to contribute to my professional (and personal) growth and development.
8. My PLN will... Allow me to find, filter, organize, repurpose and share information in order to contribute to my professional (and personal) growth and development. My PLN will build and track my connections.
10. My PLN will... Require me to contribute in order to grow. Just lurking will get me some ideas but have to give back to get more.
11. My PLN will... Require me to contribute in order to grow. Just lurking will get me some ideas but have to give back to get more. People in my network want to learn as much as I do.
12. New Tools… Way Cool! Check out some of the many social networking tools I explored for my PLN Action Plan.
13. Skype is easy to use and allows me to connect with colleagues, family, international staff and classmates.
14. This is a tool to explore further. Seems similar to Facebook and Twitter but lets me control that type of sharing and communication in a company internally. It is a benefit that it collects and manages internal collaboration and communication but need to tie this knowledge to what is going on outside the company wallsas well.
15. Great for brainstorming! Posts are short so have to be compact and get to the core of your message. Can use to collaborate input from multiple sources. Was very useful for a class project this semester. Worked because we had first had a need... collect group’s questions guest interviews... and then matched it to a tool!
16. Big fan of flickr! I don’t take lots of pics but I need them for work. Nothing more boring than a PPT deck with no pictures. Use the search function to find what I need (as well as get lost exploring new worlds and lives through images). Photos of a some of my favorite things... 17. Explored these as possibility for organizing my PLN. Both look great, heard good feedback from others but.. the learning curve to organizing info was taking a while. Not sold on them yet…
18. A quick way to grab a screenshot! Used it to grab examples from my tools and accounts online for this presentation.
19. Good flexibility for this tool. Can vote by text, tweet or online. Can use in a classroom setting because most everyone can text. Use a poll to get them to interact and engage in the materials. Or help them measure their knowledge. Take my poll…
20. http://usgbcblog.blogspot.com/ Great way to add visuals to tie with text based content. Also can be a first stab to try to tag content in a document. Running something through Wordle gives us an ideas of the topics and key words. http://kaysinformalisdblog.blogspot.com/
21. Using SlideShare to share this PLN presentation so there is one use for it! Good tool to share large PPT files. But SlideShare works if your slides are designed to stand on their own. Bullet points just don’t make a lot of sense on their own without a presenter. Use the slides to tell a story… (Hope I’ve done that here.)
22. Let’s me connect with others such as friends or colleagues. How I use it…like an address book of colleagues. /WorkingSmarter /ISDNow /OfficialUSGBC /aspergersawarenesspage
23. This has been a chance to reflect on what I’ve learned or observed, connect thoughts and ideas, and share back with others. http://kaysinformalisdblog.blogspot.com/
24. This has been my favorite new tool. Way cool! Gives me connections to a variety of people. Makes me reflect and consolidate my thoughts. And gives me snippets of info to decide if you want to dig deeper.
25. Create your own flipping book. A fun and interactive way to share a .pdf file. Used it for a class book report.
26. A dashboard tool to organize and monitor blogs, twitter, and… well… everything!
32. And I will monitor and filter it all via an “outboard brain” on netvibes A lot of To Do lists started to get organized and explore new tools and resources.
33. Will be able to follow all the blogs in one place!
