!This course will help you to improve your writing skills in English through a project designed to help others in the real world. With the
2020 Olympics coming, Omotenashi spirit has become a well known phrase. As Chukyo students in this department, we hope you will
become the kinds of adults who teach the world more about this beautiful country and who also help Japan to see the world with
international eyes.!
!Our writing focus will be on explaining things which will help visitors from abroad and local people to have a good experience together.
These kinds of writing skills are valuable in writing for PR, guidance and tourism, and online communication in general. This type of
writing also directly connects with Task 6-7 on the TOEIC test. It is hoped that beyond the general good of this project, the skills that
you gain here will help you in your future careers and travels abroad.!
!Upon completion of this course, the goal is for you to feel comfortable with your ability to do the following in written English:!
1) inform others about places and events in an appealing way!
2) give clear and concise information about dates, times, and locations!
3) give clear travel directions!
4) teach others about essential points in Japanese culture!
5) reply to travel/hospitality related online messages
