Using more of an energetic personality would’ve

TIPS USED FROM REYNOLDS
                AND DUARTE?

        The use of storytelling from
        Nancy Duarte was clear. He
        wasn’t just listing what he
        accomplished but also how
        and why he did. The
        inspiration behind all of his
        projects was told through
        various stories as well.

WHAT I LEARNED

I learned that having a continuous flow in the presentation is
key. This keeps the audience focused on what you’re saying.
Being prepared and knowledgeable as well as just being
generally comfortable helps prevent pausing and filler.

COMPARISONS

        Both men had a common
        underlying message with the
        message being; do whatever
        pleases you for a career.
        They both thought very
        highly of using imagination
        and emphasized not to lose
        it throughout life.

DIFFERENCES
                                  Sir Ken Robinson’s
                                  presentations had a more
                                  informative tone while James
                                  Cameron’s had more of a
                                  inspirational feeling. Also
                                  James Cameron’s content
                                  was more biographical with
                                  storytelling while Mr.
                                  Robinson’s was more
                                  opinionated mixed with
                                  factual examples.

ADVICE

Always have a continuing flow. Know your material. Try to
avoid pausing, stumbling through phrases, forgetting and
thinking of what you’re going to say. Being articulate is
important but in order to be articulate you must first be
         prepared.
