A2 Media Studies Induction ProjectWeek 3: Planning<br />Lesson Objectives: To understand the qualities of a Level 4 moving image product, and apply this knowledge to the planning of a filmed sequence.<br />In your groups you will be researching, planning, and producing an extract from a moving image product with a focus on the representation of young people. Your product should be between two to five minutes long. You can choose the type of moving image product you wish to produce. Possible products include a film trailer, an advert, scenes from a film/TV programme, the credits and opening scene for a film/TV programme, a music video, news report, extract from a documentary, etc.Remember you will have to explain how you have represented young people in your product.<br />The A2 Induction Project will allow you to develop important skills and knowledge to help you succeed in A2 Media Studies including:Moving image pre-production skillsProduction skillsEditingKey theoretical conceptsMedia issues – representation of young people<br />PlanningThe planning for your moving image product should consist of:A synopsisA scriptA storyboardA shotlistA production planDivide the responsibility for each of these tasks between your group members.<br />SynopsisThe synopsis is a written outline of your idea for your project. <br />ScriptThis is a written description of the events of each scene.<br />StoryboardThis is a breakdown of each shot of your sequence shown through an illustration, with brief written information about camerawork and the action.<br />ShotlistThis is a list of each shot in each scene.
