Updating Contact Information
• Your SNHU email address is how we
  communicate with students
• It is important that you keep your contact
  information updated at all times – including
  address, phone, and preferred email
• You can update your contact information
  anytime on mySNHU

• Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
    • Federal law that protects the privacy of student
      education records
    • The law applies to all schools that receive funds
      under an applicable program of the U.S.
      Department of Education


• Can access FERPA Waiver form on
  mySNHU
    • Under One Stop Forms
Health Insurance
• Student medical insurance costs are automatically
  charged to a student‟s account each year - $840/full-year
  or $565/spring-only

• Those who wish to have this charge removed must
  complete the online waiver by August 1st :

  e%20Waiver%20Form.aspx

• If you fail to complete the insurance waiver form by the
  payment due date of August 1st, you will be responsible
  for the cost of the insurance premium as indicated on
  your student account

Payment Deadline &
Consequences of Non-Payment
• Fall semester – August 1st
• Spring semester – January 1st
• Late Fee - $150/sem. if semester bill not
  paid in full / arranged
• If bill still not paid after late fee, the
  following will happen:
     --Financial hold placed on account
     --Meal plan deactivated
     --Inability to register for classes
     --Finance charges accrue
Housing Placement / Charges
• Resident student bills will have housing and
  meal charges
• Housing charges vary according to where the
  student is living
• Freshman housing is approximately $3,860 per
  semester
• Freshman meal plans are $1,590 per semester
• Commuter students should not have housing
  charges
     • Will have $100 Commuter Meal Plan charge (fall
       semester only)
Award Letter Changes /
          Rejecting Aid
• Your award letter does not represent the
  total cost of your annual education.
• If you would like to reduce or decline any
  loans, draw a line through the loan source
  (s) you wish to decline or write-in the
  lesser amount. Sign it, and send it to One
  Stop.
• If you are making no changes, you do not
  need to return this letter.
Activating Your Loans
• One time activation of Direct Stafford
  Loans
• All first time borrowers must complete:
  • Entrance Loan Counseling (ELC) and
  • sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) online
• Loan are not considered finalized unless
  these steps are complete
               • AUGUST 1

Student Employment
• Work Study funds is awarded to students
  at the time of initial Financial Aid award.
  Funds are limited.
• Documents Needed – Review Student
  Employment at SNHU Guide.
• Jobs will begin to be posted after July 1 on
  the University‟s employment site.
• Review the Student Employment at SNHU
  Guide and the Student Employment site
  on mySNHU.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
Outside Scholarships
• Many high schools, community
  organizations, private agencies and
  donors offer scholarship opportunities to
  students who demonstrate scholastic merit
  or meet other specific eligibility criteria.
• If you have been awarded an “outside”
  scholarship, submit this information to One
  Stop.
• We will then review to determine if this
  award will have any impact on the current
  award.
Named & Endowed
          Scholarships
• Through the generosity of SNHU Alumni
  and friends of the University, SNHU
  provides a number of one-time
  scholarships to returning students.
• Students annually apply; Applications are
  available in mid-late February
• Deadline to submit an application is March
  1
• Committee reviews each application
  based on the criteria of the
Higher One Card

• SNHU does not issue refunds of overpayments
  in check form
• Instead, we contract with an outside vendor
  called “HigherOne”
• Each student will receive an “SNHU One Card”
  (MasterCard debit card) in the mail upon
  registering for classes
• This card must be activated when it is received
• This is NOT a credit card. DO NOT throw it
Refunds
• It is important to understand how refunds will
  be processed, even if you are not currently
  anticipating an overpayment or refund
• Credit Balance Authorization Form
  • Must be completed in order to receive a refund
     • Option One
        • Will need to fill out a Refund Request form, credit balance
          will stay on SNHU account until requested once this option
          is chosen
     • Option Two
        • No refund request form required; Refund will be
          automatically processed to student‟s SNHU One Card each
          term once this option is chosen
• Parent Plus Credit Letter
     • If overage is result of a Parent Plus Loan, parent must
       sign form to authorize refund to go to student‟s SNHU
