• Founded in 1981 by Alan Lewis.
• Weekly music magazine focused on various types
of rock music, specifically hard rock, emo and
metalcore.
• Kerrang’s website (kerrang.com) launched in 2001
by Dan Silver.
• Kerrang! Radio launched in 2000 by EMAP.
• EMAP also launched Kerrang! TV in 2001.
• Originally owned by United Newspapers, who sold
them to EMAP in 1991. Now owned by Bauer Media Group.

4. Bauer Media Group
• Founded in Germany in 1875.
• Headquarters are in Hamburg, Germany.
• Manage over 50 TV and radio stations, 600 magazines and 400 digital
products around the world.
• Yvonne Bauer is the current publisher.
• Currently publish 2 music magazines: Kerrang! & Q
• They also publish Empire, British Celebrity Weekly and Motor Cycle News
(MCN).
• Bauer own 50% of Box Television (A British television company) which
includes music channels such as Kerrang! TV, Kiss, The Box and Smash Hits.
