1. Periodic Table Unit Project- “Wanted” Poster
Requirements
1) Construct a poster which displays as much information about your element as possible.
2) Poster should be in the form of as a “Wanted” poster.
3) Poster should be constructed on a piece of poster board measuring 17” x 11” (half the size of a standard piece of
poster board
4) Include an illustration that is related to your element. This can be in the form of the element itself or how the
element is used today. This can be your own illustration or a photocopy of a picture.
5) Write the information on the poster in your own words. Try not to copy directly out of a book or from a
website.
6) Be as neat as possible and attempt to spell all words correctly.
Items to include on your poster
1) Wanted for… The “crimes of the element, what it is used for today, why it is important
2) Aliases Other names that the element has gone by. Can include its chemical symbol, historical
names, common names, slang terms, etc.
3) Description Color, atomic mass, atomic number and structure, metal or non-metal, how it appears
at room temperature
4) First Arresting Officer The person who discovered the element and information about that person
5) Report of First Arrest When the element was discovered and how it was discovered
6) Last seen… Location on the periodic table and where the element is found in the earth
7) Known Associates What the element is generally combined with and how it reacts in those combinations
8) Warning Label Is the element dangerous on its own or is it generally stable?
9) Picture What the element looks like while it is being used
