1. Story Board
I will try to explain my story/idea in
some slides. Due to the no
miming or real action based
character this will be difficult to do
so. I will try to express my visions
as clear as possible.

2. Basic Story
A teenage boy who is upset about the death of the loved one. He is still
coming to terms with what has happened and throughout the video it
is his personal journey to the memorial bench whilst thinking things
through.
Due to the structure of the video I have left the audience wondering as
to where or what the character is doing, I wanted to do this to leave
a bigger emotional response when we finally discover what his
journey is for.
My main theme throughout the video is the link with nature and how the
weather/light represent that of the characters feelings.
The final shot of the video is the character finally looking up and
coming to terms with the death of a loved one and moving on in his
emotional battle

3. Many shots will
be used to show
the character
walking to the
destination, this
will be shown by
the use of shots
of weather, not
only to
represent
feelings but also
to show a
passing of time.

4. The foot shots will then change to
open landscapes to emphasise the
characters long journey as well as his
loneliness.
Jakes face will be seen after several
shots of walking, over the shoulder
shots, shots of nature and the sun.
I wish to do this to keep an almost
suspense amongst viewers.
The characters expression will be
emotionless so the feel of the
character can be interpreted by the
audience due to the surroundings in
which the character is in. This way it
makes the video open to interpretation
to individuals.

5. After the viewing of the characters
face the location will change to a
more enclosed autumn area, this will
represent change in emotion and
once more is open to personal
experiences of feelings.
Alongside doing this the video will
also match the tone and melody of
my sound track
More close up of nature will no be
included and a nature in the
foreground of images to show
distanced camera
The change in scenery will also
represent a further movement and
distance in which the character has
walked.

6. Finally the character walks further and
see’s some animals (perhaps ducks or
squirrels) and when he approaches them
even they run away, this represents the
characters lonely feelings and the feeling
of being unwanted
The scenery will also change and water
will be introduced to keep the scenery
fresh and also to once more represent a
change in emotion
As stated before it will also show and
highlight the distance and the area in that
the character has travelled to come to
get over what ever is on his mind
Still at this point the audience are
unaware of to where the character is
going

7. Finally it is revealed that the character is
walking to a memorial of a loved one who
has passed away.
This idea coincides with the song but due
to the structural device of the video to
conclude in the way that it does it allows
the emotions to be open to personal
interpretation
The closing shot we will finally see the
character show a happy response, this
will show how the character has come to
terms with events that have happened
In structuring the video like this it not only
just gives a video for the music to be
played along too, it gives an emotional
story which will create an emotional
response from the audience
