Wisdom
1. James 3:13
Who has wisdom among us?
Who really has the wisdom of God?
He tells us in the next passages
James 3:14
Two kinds of wisdom among us
1. Earthly, sensual, devilish
2. The wisdom that’s from above
He gives us a litmus test on the wisdom of God, who’s of the truth and who’s right in the
situation that is going on.
What wisdom is earthly, sensual, and devilish?
What wisdom is Gods wisdom from above?
The answer is in James 3:17
Gods wisdom from above
1. pure
2. peaceable
3. Gentle
4. Easy to be entreated
5. Full of mercy
6. Full of good fruits
7. No partiality or favoritism
8. Without hypocrisy
Who’s right 99.9% of the time is the person who wants to keep peace.
The one who is saying they are right and that he or she is saying that “it doesn’t matter if it
destroys the Church and it hurts everyone around us and destroys our children’s future, I
know what God said and I know what’s right and here the way it’s going to be.” He or She
is operating in a form of wisdom but the bible calls that wisdom Earthly, sensual, and
devilish.
The person that is saying “we need to keep peace, we don’t need to hurt these people, we
don’t need to hurt their children we don’t need to stop the move of God and the testimony
of Jesus in the community.” Is the person who is hearing God and receiving wisdom from
above.
3.The person who is mean, and the person who is trying to make something happen and
force it cause its “right” is not operating in Gods wisdom.
2. 3.The person operating in Gods wisdom is gentle about it.
4.The person operating in Gods wisdom doesn’t shove it down your throat, and doesn’t
manipulate or control you.
4.The person who is forcing, manipulating, controlling behind the scenes is all the flesh.
5.The one who is in Gods wisdom and truthful is the person who is being merciful.
5.The person operating in earthly wisdom is the one who is legalistic, fundamental, and
dogmatic.
You can’t work in Gods wisdom in anger, wrath, strife, contention, discord, or disunity.
Where there is envy and strife there is confusion and every evil work.
Forms of strife
1. A fight
2. Anger
3. Wrath
4. Tempers/tantrums (men are more explosive with their strife, they tend to hold stuff
inside and blow up on their wife or kids)
5. Offense/ getting offended at something or someone
Proverbs 13:10 only by pride comes contention
This problem and this issue that has you upset is no longer the real issue between you and
God. God allowed that issue in your life to expose the pride of your heart. You didn’t know
that pride was there. You didn’t know that you were prideful in that area but you getting
upset is a signal and a sign that you have pride. You getting contentious, mad, and upset is
a sign that you have pride. The source of all strife is pride.
