2. What is sport climbing?
• A form of rock climbing that
relies on permanent anchors
fixed to the rock, and
possibly bolts, for protection.
• The same as leading routes
indoors. Sometimes you will
have to place the quickdraws
on the bolts as you climb.
3. Objective for Meeting
• To solve all queries and
questions by the end of the
meeting
• You should then spend the
next week decided whether
you can commit.
• At this later stage we will ask
for deposits. Then we can
book flights. Until we do this
the dates may shift slightly.
4. Price and Dates
• Approximately £300, depending
on how many people come on the
trip the price will change.
• Includes, flights, transport,, food,
accommodation & climbing gear.
• The dates are currently 3rd-11th
July. These will shift forwards or
backwards one/two days to find
the cheapest flights.
• 7/8/9 nights.
5. Transport
• Each individual will make
their own way to London
Gatwick airport.
• There are 30 minutes trains
from the centre of London
that go directly to the airport.
• We will fly to Marseille.
6. Transport
• Flying with Easyjet. It is the
cheapest airline by a long way
when factoring for baggage costs.
• Your flight will be included in
the price of the trip.
• Return flights.
• Allowance of hand luggage +
If you go over your weight
20kg cargo luggage in the price. allowance, you will be
liable for additional
charges. The club will not
pay for these.
7. Transport
• Two 9-people rental vehicles will
be picked up from Marseille
airport.
• We need at least 4 drivers on
this trip, so each vehicle has a
backup driver.
• A driver must be over 21 and
have a clean licence. Ideally over
25.
• 1hr 30 minute drive to the
accommodation.
8. Accommodation
• An alpine style hut with bunk-
beds a large common room
area and a lounge area.
• That is Ceuse in the
background.
• We walk from the hut straight
to Ceuse. The owner says its is
the nearest accommodation
you can get to Ceuse!
• Everybody brings a sleeping
bag or their own linen/duvet.

11. Daily Itinerary
• Get up early, have breakfast.
• Make lunch to take to the crag,
pack your bags.
• Walk to the crag, climb all day
until the sun begins to set, then
head home.
• Repeat…
• May have a rest day depending on
the weather or how tired people
get. Its flexible.
12. Transport
• Everyone must have their own
insurance.
• If you are from the UK you
should have your EHIC card.
So that you are eligible for
emergency healthcare in any
EU country.
• Proof of holiday insurance
must be shown before you can
come on this trip.
