Daily Market Insight
The Nifty ended in the negative territory
for the third straight day on Monday, led
by losses in Bank of Baroda, IDFC and
Jaiprakash Associates, as the weak
opening of the European peers dampened
sentiment.
The 50-share Nifty index ended at 5,987,
down 11.90 points or 0.20 per cent. It
touched a high of 6,038.50 and a low of
5,981.25 in trade today.
The Senseex closed at 19,736.67, down
44.52 points or 0.23 per cent. The index
touched a high of 19,902.60 and a low of
19,728.21 in trade today.
The BSEMidcap Index was down 0.84 per
cent and the BSE Smallcap Index declined
0.69 per cent.

The option data suggests that the market participants are currently
visualizing the 6300 mark on the higher side. Very high CALL writing at
6300 Strike price will stop market to move beyond 6300 mark. On the other
side we can see equal PUT writings on 6000 to 5900 strike price. This
indicates that NIFTY down move would be restricted below 5900 mark. Last
session’s option data indicated that NIFTY can have a range of 5900 and
6300 in near term.
