“There’s No Training After Toilet Training”
                                 ½ Day Workshop Description
“Best Practices for Evaluating and Selecting the
                                Best people for your Organization”

“You get hired for what you know and you get fired for who you are.”—Ed Ryan.

In his workshop, John will share his insights based on 25 years of hiring and firing, and
lead a highly interactive workshop that is appropriate for business owners, and their key
executives. The goal in any organization is to get the right people in the right jobs. John
will show that workplace success is a function of whether the individual is fit for their
role. And that only comes from an effective selection process—not from on-the-job
   training.

John will explain how to measure the seven key personality traits that affect workplace
behavior and performance. Those traits are:

   • Autonomy
   • Social Ability
   • Patience
   • Conformity
   • Logic
   • Ingenuity
   • Energy Units

   Value to Participants:

Each participant will be offered a complimentary personal assessment from the Culture
Index and a 60-day unlimited use account from the Culture Index to assess any members
          TM TM

of their organization, vendors or clients. During the workshop, the profiles of the
participants and their employees will be reviewed, with strict confidentiality. Participants
should expect to gain a much better understanding of why key members of their team have
“What it takes” or why they do not. Participants will be able to incorporate this information
into their business decisions after the workshop.

As an entrepreneur, business and community leader since 1983, John Howman has led a
variety of businesses—from technology to consumer products companies. John’s insight into
people and exceptional ability to analyze market opportunities, combined with his highly
developed creativity have allowed him to develop passionate, hard working teams that find
success in highly competitive business environments. With over 20 years of experience in the
IT industry, five years plus in consumer products, and three years as a TEC Chair, John helps
businesses improve through his role as a TEC Chair and through the implementation of The
 Culture Index TM
