José Gerardo Cruz Rivera804-10-1716<br />Elisa Immuno<br />In the laboratory given by Dr. Chiesa, we performed an Elisa technique in which, we studied simulated “body fluids” with our classmates (It sounds strange to say, “We shared simulated body fluids with our classmates”.  We did this by performing an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (Elisa) to determine who have been exposed to a contagious disease.  The Elisa uses antibodies to detect the presence of diseased agents (virus, bacteria, parasites) in blood or other body fluids. The Elisa test is based on immune system antibody molecules. <br />We simulated a spread of an infectious disease with an incubation of 5 minutes. The primary antibody used was rabbit, which recognizes the antigen (chicken). Antigens are molecules that cause your body to mount an immune response. The secondary antibody used was goat, which recognizes the primary antibody. The buffer used was made of Potassium. The real antigen that we used was glamoglubilin chicken.   We found that the person who had the disease was sample #10 because   the entire sample was positive (+).<br />
