2. Overall film distribution is printing copies of films which will then
be delivered to their target audiences for either home viewing or
cinema viewing and finding the retailers/exhibitors to sell their film
on. This however normally is the task of a professional film
distributor who would control the marketing strategy for the film.
3. Hollywood films unlike British have an increasingly large amount
of money to spend on marketing and distribution therefore
making it hard for the audience to ignore the upcoming films
because of their large effective advertising techniques such as
adverts, bus shelter ads, trailers, posters and billboard.
Therefore Hollywood films are increasingly easier to distribute
because of their large budgets. In addition to this audiences from
all over the world will be able to access Hollywood films due to
their wide advertising and publicity.
10. British films unlike Hollywood films have increasingly smaller of a
maximum of 5million whereas Hollywood 300million. British films
In contrast to Hollywood films depend on viral advertising such as
free advertising including social media such as twitter in order to
attract their target audiences. British films have more distributors
therefore its more likely that their film will get into the cinemas
even if it’s a small film.
11. Working title would hopefully be the type of company
we would want to distribute our film. This is because
they produce high budget film usually up to 35 million
which our film will be because we wanted famous high
end actors to star in our film. We would like American
actors and working title is owned by universal studios a
conglomerate company, which is American and can
hire them, a lot easier than a British company would.
