Every day you’re wearing many hats, from juggling all your client accounts and pitching prospects to drumming up leads and approving creative, it’s a lot. And that’s just scratching the surface. Thankfully, we live in a time where software is being developed at un unprecedented rate to solve our problems. NOW THERE ARE PLENTY OF TOOLS To help you manage the day-to-day work of your agency. Slack, Trello, Basecamp are some of the popular ones. But what tools are right for you? Every agency culture is different, some need more structure, some need more organic forms of communication and project management. Because there are so many tools to choose from, your challenges are selecting the right mix for your agency and trying to get them to talk to each other to simplify your workflows. AND WHEN YOU FIND THE RIGHT MIX, DON’T EXPECT THE TOOLS TO MANAGE THEMSELVES. I wish they did, but personally, I’ve found trying out a tool is easy, but getting the team to adopt it can be hard. A tool won’t magically solve a problem, you need to put in the effort to get it integrated so that it will work for you. Get to know the ins and outs of it and find out how the features map to your needs, train the staff, require your managers to start using it, and check in on progress and tweak as necessary. Also, it takes time to adopt a new tool into your workflows so give it the proper room it needs to breathe before you determine it’s a dud and kill it. With all the tools to choose from, wouldn’t it be nice to hear from some experts on what they use to manage their agency? I REACHED OUT TO SOME TOP AGENCIES AND ASKED, "What agency management tool could you not live without?" And they responded with some great must-haves. They’re in no particular order, although Slack received a LOT of agency love.
