2. Accomplish Something Great!
Goal:
The goal of my sign is to promote cycling while inspiring the viewer to
work hard, have fun, set goals, and fulfill their dreams.
Audience:
The audience for my sign is both youth and adult. Cycling can be for
everyone young and old. The idea here is to associate a good framework
for success. As you know, success can be achieved by anyone who uses
the correct methods. I would say that if the sign does exclude a given
population, it would more likely exclude the elderly; however, the
argument could be made that grandparents would want their
grandchildren to see the sign in an attempt to better their way of
thinking.
Message:
The cryptic message behind the sign is that cycling can help a person
with the fundamentals of being successful. Something as easy as cycling
can be a great way to condition your body and mind to put fourth the
effort needed in life to Accomplish Something Great.

5. Changes
• In the second sign, I decided to add multiple
photos along with subheadings.
• This sign is actually MUCH longer, however I
had to shorten it in order to fit it on a
PowerPoint.
• I changed the background from a faded photo
to a light to dark silver color with the pros and
cons listed at the bottom

7. Changes
• Again, this photo was made in Microsoft Publisher and
is much longer in its original form. Try to keep an open
mind.
• I used a very warming color to the background instead
of using a single faded photo like in slide two.
• I used shapes as picture frames for my photos.
• I added a banner at the top of the sign.
• I added a ribbon at the bottom to help emulate a poster.
• I used complementary colors for my picture frames so
they would not clash with my background.

9. Final Sign Overview
I made this my final sign design for several reasons. First, I think it
does the best job at capturing both children and adults. The faded
background photo of older men helps grab the attention of adults.
Second, the font (Showcard Gothic) is bold and eye-catching to both
young and old.
Third, the bright colors make the sign fun and interesting to look at
for youth.
Fourth, the photos in the sign are a mixture of both adults and youth.
I think this helps successfully bring in an audience of all ages.
Finally, the descriptions next to each photo provides important
information about being successful in life. Parents who read this
sign would likely want their kids to see it as well. In addition,
the sign is inspiring to not only the youth, but adults as well. The
next slide is a list of key changes that I made from the other
designs.
10. Changes
• I changed the font of the title and used a similar font for
the subheadings to create repetition.
• Originally, I added a line below the title of the sign to
separate the main heading from the rest of the sign.
After giving it some thought, I decided to take this out.
• I went back to using a single faded photo of instead of a
color background.
• I arranged the photos and the text to show alignment.
• I added borders around the photos that complemented
the color of the subheading associated with that section.
• I placed a description next to each photo that
complements the sub-message.
