The students measured the circumference and diameter of circles around the school including a doorknob and trashcan. They found the trashcan had a circumference of 110.2 cm and diameter of 34.4 cm, and when they divided circumference by diameter they got 3.2 instead of the expected 3.14, showing their measurements were not perfectly accurate.
