2. This shot shows the two characters costume,
and how it relates to our target audience members. Our target
audience members are young, urban males, and the costumes that
the characters are wearing relate to the audience, because it is
typical teenager wear, especially the hoodies that Maddie and Billy
are wearing
Also the age that our
characters are, means that
the audience can easily relate
to the members,which is a
pleasure that the audience
seek for when watching a film.
3. As the title appears, the beat in our music kicks in. We chose our music because it is
urban, which fits the social realist genre, but also because it is the sort of music that
our audience would listen to. We weren’t allowed to use a copyrighted song, that our
audience members would regularly listen to, but we found a creative commons trackthat fit the
criteria. I also prefer that the song is new to the audience because it means
that it is fresh, and catchy, and also most films will release a soundtrack CD after
distributing the film, and this song would go well on a CD for people to buy as they
wouldn’t have heard it before

5. Unique Selling Point
As the British film institute states “Better than any other genre, social realism
has shown us to ourselves, pushing the boundaries in the effort to put the
experiences of real Britons on the screen, and shaping our ideas of what
British cinema can be. While our cinema has experienced all the fluctuations
in fortune of Hollywood's first export territory, realism has been Britain's
richest gift to world cinema.”
I believe that our film opening is an innovative social realism which explores
the idea of youth homelessness. This idea is unique, and isn't a widely
marketed topic, there are some European and American films on the
homeless, however none that have the same British edge that ours does.
Also because of the current economic crisis, subjects such as youth
unemployment, and homelessness are constantly in the news, this means
that it is a hot political topic, which the public would be eager to learn more
about.
