Cleveland, Ohio.
• Joined Coast Guard during WWII as
Chief Musician.
• Composed over 70 works for band, 8
for orchestra, and countless works
for films, ballet, and musical theater.
• Died on June 15, 1996 in South
Salem, New York at the age of 83.
