• They have main bases (height) between 2000
and 7000 m.
• Usually carry precipitation during the summer
and fall.

Altostratus:

• Are grey and blue middle
level clouds
• Usually cover the sky
• Often in areas of storms
in a continuous
precipitation.
• Composed of ice and
water droplets
• Appear in grey, puffy
masses
• Rolled out in parallel
waves bands
• Occur in the warm, humid
summer mornings, often
means thunderstorms
