The Beginner's Guide To Strength Training For Women
Many women do not think of strength training as a great way to stay in shape because they believe it
will make them bulky and manly. There are routines that can build muscle mass without making you
appear too ripped. The tips in the following article will assist you in developing a fitness routine that
will help you get into your best shape.




You do not want to focus on training with weights and nothing else. Doing so will give you the bulky
muscles that you are trying hard to avoid. You should alternate between using weights and doing high
intensity cardio workouts. This way you will get fit and build muscle, but it will not be over the top.




Many people make the mistake of doing weight training exercises every day of the week. While this is
a good idea for people that are looking to build bulk, you should decrease the amount of workouts
you do if you want to be fit without being large. Instead of working out daily, you should train every
other day. The workouts do not have to be very long either, since you want to tone up instead of
having large protruding muscles.




Never try to pick up very large weights when you first start out. You may think that this is a way to
build muscle faster, but it will only lead to unnecessary strain on your body. Begin with fairly small
weights, and work your way up to much larger ones over time.




Before you begin any workout, you need to make sure that you warm up. You have to prepare the
body or it will be shocked at the amount of pressure put on it. While you may be in pretty good
physical shape, you are not a machine. You need to make sure that you take the time to relax the
body before working it out.




Many women believe that strength training will always result in very large muscles, which is why a lot
more women do not do it. While that does happen in some cases, it normally occurs when that is the
result the user is looking for. If you are looking to tone up, you should come up with a workout plan
that will focus more on strengthening your muscles and less on building them.
Do not forget to stay hydrated when you are doing any type of workout. You will lose a lot of water as
you are working out, and it is up to you to replace it. Bring along a water bottle and/or a sports drink
that contains electrolytes. This will assure your body will get all of the hydration it needs.




For most women, weight training is a great method of toning the body. Remember to start slowly and
work your way up to larger workouts. Whether you are looking to focus on a target area or tone your
entire body, the tips here will help you get the body you have always wanted.
