 At the end of my 12 months at Full Sail
University, I hope that I will have received
an effective understanding in the concepts of
Instructional Design and Technology that
will not only allow me to pursue greater
opportunities, but to also create great works
of design in instruction.
Goal: To apply the topics discussed in this class to my work and use them as a guide.
These approaches will be an excellent influencer for me as I progress through my
studies.
Strategies/Tactics:
 Read Mastery by Robert Greene

 Work on including more media-rich content into my training delivery systems.
 Learn how to use Moodle by watching: lynda.com-Moodle 2.6 Essential Training
 Increase understanding of adult learners motivation by accessing the following research:
Rakich, J. S., Pittinger, L. A., & Hirschbuhl, J. J. (1999). Characteristics and Motivational Factors of
Adult Learners. Education & Society, 17(2), 33-42.
Young Ju, J., Kyu Yon, L., & Su Mi, K. (2012). A Model for Predicting Learning Flow and
Achievement in Corporate e-Learning. Journal Of Educational Technology & Society, 15(1),
313-325.
Goal: To take the knowledge I gain from evaluating design strategies, and develop an
Instructional design model best suited for my field of work. I also plan to learn greater
means of assessment on how my trainings are adding value to learners
Strategies/Tactics:
 To work on completing useful project plans and be able to evaluate their effectiveness.
 Research various examples of instructional design methodologies and document them in my
Mastery Journal.
 Work on building webinars by watching: lynda.com-Webinar Fundamentals
 Read and dissect the following research article to gain a better understanding of Instructional Design
Models:
Baturay, M. (2008). Characteristics of Basic Instructional Design Models. Ekev Academic Review,
12(34), 471-482.

 Study and research the techniques used at: instituteofplay to gain a better understanding of
using games as a learning tool.
My goal in this course is to learn to train and deliver content within a learning
management and learn skills necessary to possibly create my own LMS.
Strategies/Tactics:
 Learn the skills to assess and evaluate the myriad of Learning Management Systems (LMS) that are
in the market place and how to pick the best one based on the needs of learners.
 Enhance my Learning Management systems knowledge by watching: Lynda.com-Instructional

the IDTMS. Gather all past projects and research into portfolio. Add to CV/Resume to send to hiring
managers of the positions found during searches.
 Watch lynda.com-Overview instructional design to assist me in fine tuning the details of my final
design project.
In my journey to Mastery, I hope to find a mentor that has at least a few of the
following attributes:
Patience:
Being a mentor is like being a parent. It takes equal parts caring, understanding and sometimes “tough love”.
Patience is a skill that will allow the mentor to remain calm when at times tempers may be getting the best of
people.
Be a role model:
Setting a great example and a high level of expectation for the mentee to rise to is crucial for getting the best out of
individuals.
Committed to the role of mentoring:
They have to realize that at times, it can be thankless and tiresome but despite that, they are willing to continue the
role of working to get the best out of people and having a positive impact on others.
Open to sharing as much as possible:
Having the ability to choose experiences that they feel are appropriate and helpful, while also sharing the mistakes
and failures not just the successes.
Want the mentee to succeed
They realize that they are not in a competition and want individuals to be successful.
Has great experience
They have done a number of things within the field while maintaining a good reputation and being esteemed by
colleagues in the professional community

  • 16. In my journey to Mastery, I hope to find a mentor that has at least a few of the following attributes: Patience: Being a mentor is like being a parent. It takes equal parts caring, understanding and sometimes “tough love”. Patience is a skill that will allow the mentor to remain calm when at times tempers may be getting the best of people. Be a role model: Setting a great example and a high level of expectation for the mentee to rise to is crucial for getting the best out of individuals. Committed to the role of mentoring: They have to realize that at times, it can be thankless and tiresome but despite that, they are willing to continue the role of working to get the best out of people and having a positive impact on others. Open to sharing as much as possible: Having the ability to choose experiences that they feel are appropriate and helpful, while also sharing the mistakes and failures not just the successes. Want the mentee to succeed They realize that they are not in a competition and want individuals to be successful. Has great experience They have done a number of things within the field while maintaining a good reputation and being esteemed by colleagues in the professional community
