CAREER HISTORY
Network Rail Nov 2014 to Date
Owns, maintains and develops Britain's rail tracks, signalling, bridges, tunnels, level crossings and many key stations
Senior Engineer Traction & Rolling Stock
Responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Plant and T&RS Business Critical Rules Programme.
Providing expert advice, input and support associated with the provision of services for customers and suppliers.
 Implemented Bowtie for risks management and re-writing, updating all maintenance manuals.
 Managed the design and delivery of programmes for the development of technical capability required including
the competence framework and effective training materials. Provided the technical input into the development of
the standards, specifications, means of compliance and KPIs for Asset Management including system risks.
Created a culture of ownership and accountability across teams and instigated training activities to plug skills
gaps and ultimately change staff behaviour and performance. Developed and improved team communication,
roles and responsibilities by creating a slot in team meeting to share success stories. I introduced participation
meeting to be held two monthly.
 Supported the development of strategy, technology and assets across engineering and maintenance functions
 Proactively researched and responded to changes in the internal and external requirements and practice which
impacted upon policy and standards. Delivered projects to time, cost and quality standards with efficient
resource usage.
 Updated and streamlined network rail’s NSC maintenance documents setting policy, standards and operational
processes making it easier for frontline staff to access and use effectively. Integrated and co-ordinated activity
liaising with external and internal agencies for improving documents to the highest standard ever written for
Network rail.
 Supported engineering analysis and risk assessment using bowties to identify and control threats to minimise
potential of becoming a top event or hazard. I also have an extensive and practical knowledge and experience
in The European Train Control System (ETCS) which is a signaling, control and train protection system
designed to replace the many incompatible safety systems currently used by European railways, especially on
high-speed lines. ETCS requires standard trackside equipment and a standard controller within the train cab. In
its final form, all lineside information is passed to the driver electronically, removing the need for lineside signals
which, at high speed, could be almost impossible to see or assimilate.
Bombardier Transportation Feb 2011 - Nov 2014
World’s leading manufacturer of planes and trains.
Production/Maintenance Manager
Working on EMU (Electrical Multiple Units) and D.M.U (Diesel Multiple Units) Cars Class 91- 180, 170 and 172.

Developed and improved team communication, roles and responsibilities by creating a slot in team meeting to share success stories. I introduced participation meeting to be held two monthly.  Supported the development of strategy, technology and assets across engineering and maintenance functions  Proactively researched and responded to changes in the internal and external requirements and practice which impacted upon policy and standards. Delivered projects to time, cost and quality standards with efficient resource usage.  Updated and streamlined network rail’s NSC maintenance documents setting policy, standards and operational processes making it easier for frontline staff to access and use effectively. Integrated and co-ordinated activity liaising with external and internal agencies for improving documents to the highest standard ever written for Network rail.  Supported engineering analysis and risk assessment using bowties to identify and control threats to minimise potential of becoming a top event or hazard. I also have an extensive and practical knowledge and experience in The European Train Control System (ETCS) which is a signaling, control and train protection system designed to replace the many incompatible safety systems currently used by European railways, especially on high-speed lines. ETCS requires standard trackside equipment and a standard controller within the train cab. In its final form, all lineside information is passed to the driver electronically, removing the need for lineside signals which, at high speed, could be almost impossible to see or assimilate.
