3. Objectives of SSMC AV Ministry
• Enhance congregation’s audio visual
experience & engagement during Sunday
Celebration and other SSMC events or
performances
• Ensure uninterrupted and smooth provision
of multimedia services during these events
• Extending God’s message & blessings to
wider audience across platforms by
recording & reproducing (DVD/CD/MP3,
Website, Ebenezer, etc)
• Exercise responsible stewardship of
expensive resources / equipment
• Enable opportunities of service, personal
growth & mentoring

4. General Guidelines
1. Pray & Commit to God for the smooth running of the
systems & for God to use the facilities for His glory
2. Be present at least 30 mins before event e.g. 9.00am on Sundays
3. Commit to your schedule - if you are unable to fulfill your duty,
ensure that there is a replacement / backup (be accountable)
4. Check all equipment under your care and also the interconnections
to other equipments e.g. videocamera to mixer; PCs to projectors;
mixers to PC/Projector
5. Handle all equipment with utmost care as most of them are
expensive & sensitive and any malfunction affects entire
congregation
6. Participate fully in the sessions e.g. worship, prayer, listening to
sermon, even while discharging your duties
7. Minimise any distractions to congregation & stage (avoid
unnecessary chatter, movements & loud attire)
8. Share your skills and knowledge
9. Continuous learning – Initiative to learn new tasks (cross training),
Be open to feedback & criticism to improve
10. Serve joyfully even in the background and out of the limelight
6. Multimedia Crew Responsibilities
• Responsible for Projectors in main
hall
– Switching on / off
– Ensuring right settings
• Responsible for the PCs & relevant
applications at the Projection
booths
• Powerpoint Station
– Managing the Powerpoint
presentation slides (announcements,
sermons, prayer points)
– Liaise with Sound Team when audio
is required
• Song View Station
– Managing the Open Song programs
– Liaise with worship leader / speakers
7. Powerpoint Station
• Power up and check all equipment (PC,
remote presenter, sound output to
sound room & Projectors) including
connection to speaker’s notebook
• Load powerpoint slides & multimedia
files (announcement, speaker, prayer
leader) & manage sequence of slides if
required by speaker
• Key in “dynamic” information
– Visitors names (as provided by ushers)
– any urgent announcements (e.g. vehicle
obstructions) & briefly flash on screen
during appropriate moment
• Copy the powerpoint slides&
multimedia files for the post production
& web administrator
8. Song View Station
• Load the prepared song lists
in Open Song Program as
provided by the worship
leader / Onn Yee
• Attend the Worship Team
practice
• Briefing by worship leader
before service
• Pay attention & follow cue of
the worship leader during
worship
9. The Lighting Crew
• Switch on / off lighting properly (allow for
cooling off)
• Set up the PC & lighting software &
templates for “scenes”
• Manage proper stage lighting scenes to
suit different situations
– Worship, sermon
– Special Events e.g. Performances
– Balance needs of congregation, camera
crew & persons on stage
• Manage ambient lighting in sanctuary
– Yellow downlights only before 9.30am
– White halogen light @ 9.30am
– Switch off last 2 rows of yellow downlights
nearest screen stage
10. Camera Crew Responsibility
• Responsible for the Video
Cameras & supporting
accessories
– batteries, memory cards, video
tripod, wireless transmitter
– Set up, proper handling,
safekeeping, storage
• Familiarising with the functions & operations of
the camera (& teaching / mentoring new
members)
• Recording Sunday Celebrations & Special Events
11. Duties of Video Camera Crew
• Physically set up video cameras in
designated positions
• Check battery, memory card,
connectors/cables, transmitter feed in
from sound room
• Check & calibrate camera settings
• Pre plan positioning & angles with other
cameraman (wide/close up, focus on
worship team, leader, signing team,
audience) to complement each other
• Where appropriate, follow directions
from video mixer / coordinator /
director
• Record proceedings accurately
• Avoid chatter that interfere with sound
recording or distract live audience
12. Duties of the Video Mixer Crew
• Set up AV Mixer before event
• Check all connections inputs from
camera & PC, out output to
projector
• Communicate with &/or give
instructions to video cameraman
via wireless comm
• Switch signals between cameras /
PCs to maintain dynamic views &
perspectives ; PIP view of song
signing team
• Safety net to cover for camera
‘malfunction’ (whether camera or
human) & switching to
functioning camera

to congregation caused by unofficial
“paparazi” photographers
